He smiled as she said that she just rides her bike or walks whenever she goes out. That’s basically what he does too. Kind of except his bike is a motorcycle but same idea. “Ya she is great. A little dorkey and cares way too much about what others think of her.” He said shaking his head as he thinks of his sister Zoey and how they are complete opposites.
“It is true though.” He tells her. “You see that’s the thing most of the time people look down on artist because they are not picking up the same view object or person as the person who made it. With art there are no rules and no trying to please someone else it is strictly just you and your view of the world.” He said slightly shaking his head up and down. Then returning to picking at his fries.
“I don’t think you are a goofy art girl. It’s the same with the art. It all depends on who and how the person is viewing you. For example those prissy girls I guess you could say that about you because you are not like them and don’t fallow the pack. No you look for deeper meanings.” He told her lifting his head to look straight into her stunning brown eyes.
When she said she thought it was sweet that he was sticking up for his little sis he was a little shocked. I mean who would really be ok with that? If this was Erik’s old life he surely would just ignore that person like everyone else basically would. It only seemed natural but not her. “You really are something else you know that June.” He said more so like a statement then a question.

June gave a small grin as he spoke of his sister. "Hey, I think we all do, at times. But, I guess some of that's okay... I mean, until we start putting others down over it." She shrugged, breaking off another piece of her pretzel and popping it into her mouth. She knew she was guilty of caring what others thought about her a bit too much. Sure, she tried not to show it... but, she still did care. Even if it was on the lowest of standards.
Listening to what Erik had to say, June couldn't help but to smile. Erik really understood the whole art concept. He'd just pretty much pegged why she loved art so much and she had only known him for a matter of minutes. She was actually... impressed. "I'm impressed, Erik," She admitted, with a slight laugh. "I'm not sure if you're an artist or not... but, you've just said exactly what makes me love art. I mean, art is just... your take on the world. It's whatever you want it to be," She agreed. He seemed so different then he actually looked, she found herself being continually impressed.
June brought her lemonade to her lips now, moving to take a small sip. But, at Erik's words, June nearly choked. It was so unexpected... and yet incredibly nice of him to say those things. She set her lemonade down, a prevented herself from coughing and then gave Erik a very toothy smile. "Well, thank you..." She paused, meeting his gaze. She was very surprised to find that he had such pretty eyes. "You know, you're a lot different than I expected you to be... I mean, in a good way."
June gave a small smile, fidgeting with the corner of her sketch book. She didn't break eye contact, however. For once, she found herself wanting to get to know him more. She hadn't really felt that way about a boy since she'd met Joey so many years back. "Is that a good thing?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow slightly.

He smiled his best smile when she said she was impressed. That’s the thing with most people. The look on the outside. But the thing is that you have to let them see the you on the inside and not just blaming others for not knowing the truth. “Well I am not really an artist per say but I do my far share of photography and I do a little sketching but I am not all that good at it.” He told her. “The art I guess you could stay that I do is mostly revolved along the lines of building things.” He said shaking his head. In his mind it was kind of art but not really. Some people say he is an artist with his hands and all that stuff but he just does not really considerate it really art.
“You’re welcome.” He said slowly bowing his head just a little trying not to overdo it. “Well it never hurts to open up a little bit to some people.” He said with a laugh. “I think if one of my pals back home heard me say that they would fall over.” He said shaking his head with a little laugh. “Well except for Ally she would just drop dead.” He said continuing to shake his head and laugh.
“Yes.” He told her. “To me it is a very good thing. You are the first person since I moved here I feel like I can really talk to.” He said holding eye contact. “Other than my sister that is. It’s just something about but I can’t figure it out. I normally don’t talk about all this kind of stuff when I am around people even less when I am around new people. Normally I just vent it out in my journal I have at home.” He said a little embarrassed to admit the fact that he keeps a journal. “Some things are just too important to forget. And somethings you just feel forbidden to forget and than even includes everylittle thing we do each day.”

June was suddenly not only impressed, but rather interested. He sketched? Or, maybe he was a sculptor? Either way, she was rather thrilled. If there was one thing she enjoyed, it was art. "Maybe you could show me some of your work sometime? I mean, if you want to, that is. I'm sure that you're being way too modest," June grinned, the thrill was clearly evident in her voice. She took a sip of her lemonade and then shifted in her seat. She had just started sculpting... she wasn't all that great at it just yet. June had also tried some photography, but in the end she always preferred to sketch things. It was just... her life.
June giggled, hearing him say that his friends would be surprised to hear him open up. It was rather surprising to her. He seemed like such a nice boy... someone who was fairly open. But, maybe they just brought out the best in each other. It was strange how the most random people could do that. "Well, I'm glad you're open.. it makes things more interesting." She shrugged, giving a slight nod.
June held his gaze, a rather embarrassed smile creeping on to her face. "It's nice to just... talk, sometimes. I mean, I'm glad you feel more open around me." Erik was the first boy she had really felt so interested in other than her childhood sweetheart, Joey Cartell. She just felt herself feeling rather... amazed, or maybe excited by Erik's 'bad boy' rep. Or, maybe he was that he was actually very nice underneath it all. June was sure, but she was enjoying it.
"That's for sure," June's mind drifted back to her own journal. She hadn't wrote in it in what seemed like an entirety. She really needed to do that. "I'm not usually this open, either." June admitted with a shrug. Sure, she wasn't shy. But, she did believe in keeping her personal life personal... unless she was around Massie or Carmen, of course. She didn't usually talk this much to just random people, however. It was an interesting change of nature.
[eh, that wasn't my best work. haha. hope it'll do. xD]

‘Maybe you could show me some of your work sometime? I mean, if you want to, that is. I'm sure that you're being way too modest,’ June said to him. He could not help but laugh and smile. It was true that some people saw his art as being amazing but he himself never really thought so. The only art he liked was his motorcycle. He figured that he built basically the whole thing from scratch it counted as art. He made it the way he wanted it to be. “Trust me it ain’t that good. At least not to me it is not.” He said with a laugh. “And ya I would enjoy if you came to see my art. Never hurts to have another artist opinion on it.” He said before picking up another fry and taking a sip of his lemonade. “On one condition that is. Sometime you show me some of your work.” He informed her.
“Ya isn’t that the truth.” He told her when she said it was nice to talk sometimes. Even in his old life he was never that open. But since he moved here it has only gotten worse. Especially with his cousin Danni always trying to get him to be more open. It’s not like he did not like her or anything but she could be very annoying and won’t stop till she wins. But Erik was not going to win so easily.
When he heard her say that she was not that open either he could not help but smile. You could tell she was a lot more social then he was but it made him feel a lot better about it anyway. “I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything but you have really beautiful eyes. And a great laugh if I must say.”

June grinned once again as he said that his art wasn't that good. She was often caught saying the same thing her own work. But, she supposed that deep down she knew it was far from true. She worked hard on her art and was frequently told it was good. She broke off a piece of her pretzel and was about to eat it when Erik stated that he wanted to see her work, too. Suddenly June paused, her eyes shifting down to her sketch book. "I could show you some of it now," She managed, before she chickened out. "But... you have to promise me you won't laugh. It's not my best work." She stated. Her best work, she thought, was some of the pictures she had drew of 'Lundy.' With all the free time she had had, she didn't have to worry about anything but her drawing subject. They all turned out amazing because of that. But, she always left that sketch book at home. She didn't want anything to happen to it.
Now June felt rather antsy. She was curious to see Erik's art. He'd really interested her. She finally put her piece of pretzel into her mouth and then ran her fingers along the edge of her sketch book. She took a sip of her lemonade then, and then looked back up to Erik. He was interesting. He seemed so different than her usual crowd of people... she didn't quite know how to take it. But, she didn't mind at all. It was exciting, really.
June couldn't help but to flush slightly as Erik complemented her eyes. She'd never thought of them as beautiful, it was just really nice of him to say. "Thank you," She grinned, biting her lip ever so slightly. She was hesitant to tell him that she had been admiring his eyes as well. But, she managed to speak up. "You're eyes are actually very pretty, too." June giggled slightly. A rather embarrassed giggle. She actually wasn't one to complement a boy on their eyes. Especially one as cute as Erik. She met his gaze once more and then shifted in her chair slightly. Maybe the holiday bargains were a good thing after all? She'd have to remember that next year.
[ and another bad post on my behalf. xD they'll get better. =) ]

Erik smiled when she agreed to show him some of her art. He did not often look at other people’s art since the incident. Every so often he would go to a few small art galleries but he did it secretly and not all that often. “Um ya sure it would be nice to see it now.” He said with a smile. “And don’t worry I would never laugh at someone else’s art. I may not have that many manners but I do fallow that rule.” He said with a slight laugh. It was no lie though. If it was not meant to be laughed at her did not laugh at it.
“Thank you I guess no one has ever really said that to me.” He said with a laugh and a smile when she commented his eyes. It kind of left him speechless. The last time someone said his eyes were pretty was some gay dude in his class. But that was awkward because it was like ‘Dude wrong team’. Erik did a slight laugh at the thought. It was not that he did not like gay people he just did not like them when they would flirt with him. Erik pulled himself out of his little memory in his head and looked back at her. “Did you know you eyes are a mirror for your soul? Some people say when you look into people’s eyes they can actually see if that person has a clean soul or not. At least that is was people tell me.” He told her looking straight into her eyes. He never really belived in that kind of thing but he though it was an interesting assumption.

He had agreed not to laugh, and June gave a weary smile. She believed him, she really did... but, she'd still always been conscious of her artwork. She knew it wasn't bad... but, she also knew that she wasn't the next Divinci, either. Still, deciding it best not to let herself over think the subject, June picked up her sketch book and slowly handed it across the table. Most of the book consisted of various drawings of her dog, the town, and various Christmas trees or scenes. There was even a half-finished one that she had started that morning. A simple sketch of the view from her apartment building window. She found it to be rather pretty when everything was covered in snow.
June grinned as Erik mentioned that no one had ever told him that he had pretty eyes. She was surprised, really. His eyes were one of the first things that she'd noticed about him. Well, them and his smile. His smile was just... adorable. June wasn't sure how to think of it. It was probably one of his best features and it made her feel kind of speechless. It was weird how those things worked. "Really?" June shook her head, clearing her mind slightly as Erik once again began to speak. It took her a minute to register what he was saying, but once she did, she gave a brisk nod.
"I'd believe that," She agreed after just a few more seconds. She fidgeted with her straw, studying Erik's eyes. She;d discovered at a young age that it was nearly impossible to lie when you were looking right at someone. And, that no matter how mean or rude someone came off to be... they weren't always such a bad person. Their eyes could easily give them away. "A person's eyes are one of the only ways that you can tell if someone is being real or not around you. It's the window to your soul." June stated with a grin. Some people didn't believe that, but she sort of did. It just seemed to be true... and what could it really hurt?

Erik reached for the book as she passed it across the table. He could tell she was still a little self-conscious about her work. He opened up the book and flipped through the pages. There were a numerous amount of just random sketches. Some were of a dog and other were sceneries. There were also a few that had Christmas trees on it. He couldn’t help but let out a slight laugh. He knew she would probably flip so before she could make any comment about it he closed the book and handed it back to her. “June before you flip I wasn’t laughing at your art. I was laughing because you seem so self-conscious about it. Like I don’t think you realize just how good your art really is.” He told her honestly.
‘Really?’ She asked when he told her no one ever said that to him. He let out a slight laugh. “Yes really.” He told her. Once again he couldn’t help himself but smile. He still questioned why this nice, pretty, smart girl was talking to him. Of course it became a little easier now that they found something in common but it still seemed a bit off to him. He didn’t care though. He figured he might as well injoyed it while it lasted.
‘I'd believe that,’ She agreed with his statement. ‘A person's eyes are one of the only ways that you can tell if someone is being real or not around you. It's the window to your soul.’ She added on. “Ya I guess that is true. Not with everyone though. Some people are very good at hiding things.” He said partly referring to himself but also to some of the people of his past. “Some things sometimes seem just seem too natural and real to actually be real. People never really notice that until something happens.” He said biting on his lip slightly making sure you really couldn’t tell from the outside.

Oh, god, he was laughing! June bit her lip, fidgetting even more so with the straw. She knew that she should've just kept her mouth shut about her sketches. She was just about to say something, when Erik responded instead. She slowly took the sketchbook back, and was rather surprised by his works. She flushed slightly. He'd pegged her feelings exactly. She was self-concious. Probably too much. It was one of her worst traits. She gave a slightly embarrassed smile, and took a few seconds to find her voice. Did that mean that he did like them? She felt slightly relieved that he wasn't laughing at her art, and even more so that he seemed to like them. "I'm not that self-concious." She stated, with a slight shrug. Though, this was probably a total lie. She brushed it away and gave a small smile. "Did you think they were okay, though? I mean, they're not my best work..." She paused, cutting herself off before she started rambling. Anything art related could easily get her to ramble.
June giggled, giving a soft smile. "I'm surprised," She replied, holding his gaze. "I mean, it's true." She paused, rather surprised that they seemed to click so well. It didn't seem like they had much in common... and yet, they did have things in common. Or, at least, enough to keep a conversation going. Erik was nice, and she was surprised that more people didn't think so. There again, he was new to the district.
June considered this, before giving a small shrug. That could be true, but with most people it wasn't. Most people were pretty easy to read with their eyes. "I guess so," She shrugged, still thinking this over. "I mean, a lot of people are pretty good at hiding things. Some people are just surprising like that. But, with most people you can tell fairly easy." She knew she was probably easy to read... but, she wasn't the best at telling with other people. There were some she could figure out easily by their eyes and others that were hard. SHe wasn't sure where Erik fell just yet. But, he seemed like a good person at heart.

‘I'm not that self-concious.’ She said to him. He let out a light laugh and raised one eye brow in a questioning manner wondering if she was really telling the truth. ‘Did you think they were okay, though?’ She asked. ‘I mean, they're not my best work...’She continued Erik let out another laugh. “There really good.” He started out. “Don’t get mad at me when I say this next part though. Its just my own opinion okay?” He warned her. “I think you could maybe put a little more of yourself into the pictures. I know you are probably think ‘what the heak this kid is crazy how can I put some of myself into pictures of landscapes and such?’ but it is possible you could be more spontaneous. And my other advice would be to try creating your own kind of scenery or whatever you want to call it. Something that you would probably not ever see or what you would imagine a place could look like. But hey that’s just me.” He explained to her.
‘I'm surprised,’ she said. ‘I mean, it's true’. She told him. He loved the soft smile she was giving it was perfect. He had to admit he liked June more and more by the minute. He never felt this close to any other girl other than his sisters. And he just started getting close with his only sister now because he was not able to really talk to Zoey no more. Other then when he prayed. “I’m not. That was never what people were thinking about when I walked their way. It went more like ‘Who is that sexy god?’” He said sarcastically with a laugh.
‘I guess so,’ She agreed with Erik after a moment. ‘I mean, a lot of people are pretty good at hiding things. Some people are just surprising like that. But, with most people you can tell fairly easy.’ He thought about that for a moment before answering. “Do you think I could lie or hide things from you?” He asked. He wanted to see what her answer would be and to know how much she could believe him about stuff. He wanted her to be truthful. He just did not know what answer would be harder to handle. If she did trust him or if she didn’t. They both seemed rather negative in his mind.
