eyes: Tara has very big, blue-green eyes framed with long, dark eyelashes.
hair: Tara's hair is fairly long, falling down past her shoulders. It is a rich, dark brown color with good volume, and it flips ever so slightly at the tips. Tara is known to highlight her hair with redder brown or dirty-blonde colors.
distinguishing features: Her most distinguishing feature would be her face. Tara is clearly 100% Indian and it shows in her angular chin, straight nose, full lips, and arched eyebrows.
tattoos and piercings: Tara has the common ear-lobe piercings, one in each ear, but she has none other than that. Tara has no permanent tattoos, but is often decorated with henna tattoos and/or a bindi.
personal style: Tara has a unique sense of fashion. For tradition's sake she wears festive saris, but she also wears fashionable Western clothes as well such as designer jeans and silk blouses. Tara has always enjoyed dressing nicely in beautiful and fancy clothes, and she will not even touch sweatpants or plain cotton tees.
appearance: Tara has excellent posture that just screams self-confidence. She holds her head high, pushes her shoulders back and her chest out, and walks with an obvious swagger somewhat like a model. Her skin is a lovely glowing bronze because of her origins, and Tara is proud of this. Tara stands out for multiple reasons, her origin, her confidence, and her beauty.

weaknesses: Good food, chocolate, romantic comedy (films), pretty layouts, festivity.
greatest fear: Her freedom taken away.
greatest desire: To lead an important life.
habits and quirks: Thinks everything (literally everything) looks better after she has doodled on it. Collects a random object from every place she visits. Feels naked without henna paint.
overall personality:
spirited ;; Tara is very spirited, and loves any adventure. She's not afraid to try new things and loves the upbeat & spicy lifestyle. Tara likes to be spontaneous when she can, and never fails to show a little attitude.
self-confident ;; Her biggest strength is her self-confidence. Though this is often seen as ego and shunned by her parents, Tara loves her ability to believe in herself and flaunts it happily. Some could see this as a little vain, and in a way Tara is vain -- she knows she's pretty and knows she can intimidate people, so she uses it to her advantage.
fun ;; If someone so much as mentions any kind of festive or party-like thing Tara will jump on them. She absolutely loves dancing, singing, games, and parties. Her love for fun makes Tara a fun person and she can usually make anything have a little excitement to it.
loyal ;; Although she's not in any way modest, humble, or quiet like Indian women are traditionally supposed to be, Tara is very reliable. She doesn't break promises without a highly important reason, and is loyal to her family above most all things. Her loyalty comes from her level-headedness, which sometimes clashes with her spontaneous and adventurous manners, but serves her well in life.

father: Yuyutsu Neha, 47, computer programming
siblings: Naveen (8, middle school student), Sachi (6, homeschooled), and Induma (24, photographer)
extended family: Aunt Kalindi Baker (24), Uncle Jeremy Baker (28), and Cousin Tapan Baker (6) -- All living in Boston, Massachusetts.
pets: none
nationality: Indian
birthplace: : Mangalore, India
history: Let's start with Jayanti, Tara's mother. Jayanti had a marriage planned by her parents with Yuyutsu (who was nine years older than her). They married when Jayanti was only fourteen, and gave birth to Induma shortly afterwards. Jayanti's sister Kalindi was born around the time of Jayanti's wedding, so Jayanti never lived with her sister and was not very close with her until Kalindi reached the age of fourteen. Her parents had a planned marriage for Kalindi, but Kalindi highly refused for she had fallen for an eighteen year old archeologist-in-training (Jeremy Baker) who was visiting from America. Kalindi, being a very wild child, confessed her love for him one day and despite the age difference, Jeremy confessed that he had oddly fallen in love with her as well. Kalindi's parents were outraged, but eventually they told Kalindi that she may marry this Jeremy Baker only if she left India and never returned. Kalindi was sad, but she was in love more than that so she ran off to America with her fiancé.
Jayanti was torn between longing to make sure her sister was safe in America and loyalty to her parents, but she stayed in India until two years later when Induma was sixteen and Tara (who had been born when Kalindi and Induma were 14) was ten. Jayanti's parents and Yuyutsu's parents began to pester Jayanti about marrying Induma off to a wealthy man. Jayanti and Yuyutsu were against this, so that made up Jayanti's mind to move to America, and after talking with Yuyutsu (who agreed) they were off.
This was a big thing for ten-year-old Tara and her sister Induma, and they were very excited. America wasn't very welcoming at first, but Induma and Tara went to school and learned to speak English fluently, and the Neha family's first son Naveen was born during their first year of living in America. Slowly life became very easy for all of them, and two years after Naveen was born Sachi came into the world. By then the Neha family had become confident in America, and Yuyutsu learned to speak English and got a job at a computer programming corporation in New York, NY. So the family moved to New York, and that is where they're living happily now.
