 Kennedy pulled into the parking lot bright and early. She loved getting to school early and sitting in her yellow VW beetle listening to music. Today she had some math homework to finish up from last night. Math was her weak point in school, but she still maintained a B+. The worksheet was on Trig, her LEAST favorite part of math. 10 minutes later she finished all but one problem and decided to give up and ask the teacher before class started. Her math class was right after lunch which she was tankful for because she could skip out of lunch early and get some extra help.
It was only 6:45 and only a few cars were already parked in the parking lot. It was a beautiful warm morning. The air still smelt like summer. Kennedy turned off her car at the conclusion to her Kings of Loen CD and grabbed her books and bag. she placed her books on the roof of her car and leaned against the door breathing in the fresh air. Her stomach grumbled. She had skipped breakfast to make room to possibly have lunch today, if she had the time. She looked around hoping to see a farmiliar face.

Mackenzie drove her red convertible down the street towards her most hated place in the world. She sighed and pushed her out of her sunglasses. She had gotten up later then usual and wanted to get to school so she could do her homework. She didn't know why she couldn't do it at home since her parents were doctors and always out and about but she liked doing it before class it was a better feeling. She smiled as she pulled into the school parking lot, there wasn't truly lots of people there yet. She found a parking place farthest away from the school and got out. She grabbed her books and headed towards the school. While she was walking she saw Kennedy Austen. Kennedy and Kenzie were pretty good friends. She walked over and said "Hey Keds!

"Kenz!" Kennedy said with a smile. She left her bag next to her car and greeted with Kenzie with a hug. She greeted everyone with a friendly hug. "How have you been?" she asked. It was already the third day of school, but she hasn't seen makenzie yet. She knew kenz was one of the students on the plane that was stranded. Kennedy withdrew from the hug with a smile and touched the ends of her hair-- a habit of hers. There was still time before they needed to go inside for homeroom.

Kenzie smiled and hugged Kennedy back. Kenzie was a little taller then Kennedy but she didn't care. "Pretty good! It has been pretty boring because my parents work all the time." She said sporting her usual smile. You could never get Mackenzie to stop smiling it was a habit. "How have you been?" She asked her friend. She slid her sunglasses to the top of her head and looked around. She hated wearing dark sunglasses then taking them off to reveal the bright sun.

Kennedy picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder and held the strap. "I've been better, but I'm good. I wish it was still summer" she said, but actually she was glad school started. Now she had less free time to think, and she got to see her friends. "I'm sure you've been asked this a million times but-- how was it?.. ya know, on the island" she said with a light bite of her bottom right corner of her mouth.

"Well that's good." She said. She looked towards the school the looked at her phone she had a couple of minutes. "I'm sure you've been asked this a million times but-- how was it?.. ya know, on the island" That made Kenzie laugh a little bit. "The island was pretty fun made a lot of friends. The worst part was crashing, I had some bruises here and there." She said looking down at her arm. All of her bruises were mostly gone except one small one on her arm.

"Well thats good," she said "except for the whole crash part," she added with a smile. Kennedy noticed Kenzie looking at her phone, i wonder if she has to be somewhere she thought to herself. "Well, I'm glad you are okay!" she said with a relieved sigh. The two of them used to be close as kids and Kennedy missed having her as a close friend. "Maybe I'll see you at lunch" she said with a smile as she grabbed her books off the roof of her yellow punch buggy. She loved her car and reaction people had when they saw it. Kennedy got a kick out of the 'punch-buggy game'.
