overall personality: adelyn arbor james is a girl with many sides. she's often arrogant and self-centered... making herself known around the school for being a bit bitchy. adelyn often tries to act older than what she is, mostly to impress the older kids. she gets jealous quite easy, which is odd for a girl who has always gotten everything she's ever wanted.
but, when at home, adelyn has a side that she only shows her family and close friends. sure, she's still arrogant and a bit materialistic... but, when no one is around to show off to she tends to stop trying so hard to be something that she's not. she'll actually act her age, and go back to her fun-loving old self. regardless of the case, though, adelyn always has a soft spot for animals. just like her sister, they're like her calling. she loves them.

history: The James family are no strangers to the glamourous and spoiled life styles of California. Lyla Isabelle Wright and Logan Grayer James originally met at the Grammys years ago. Lyla was an aspiring choreographer for music videos. Logan was into producing music videos. Both had been waiting on their big breaks.
Maybe this was why they bonded? Lyla and Logan soon began to date. It wasn't but maybe a year later when Logan's big break came. His music video made it to number one. Instant fame, fortune, and success came his way. Everyone wanted him to be in charge of their music videos. Pulling a few strings, he managed to get Lyla a job in one of those music videos. She was the choreographer. Together, their music video became number three on the charts. They soon had nearly everything they'd ever wanted.
Not long after that did the two settle down together in Malibu, California. They got married a few months later in early October. It was only then that Lyla broke the news that she was pregnant. Both Lyla and Logan were very happy by this.
July 16th came quickly, and it was probably the happiest day of their lives. Twin baby girls were brought into the world on that sunny California day. Adelyn Arbor and Callista -- became their names. Even from birth they were spoiled rotten. They got everything their little hearts could possibly want.
This didn't stop the twins from being very close, though. They were the best of friends for years to come. Meanwhile, Lyla and Logan continued their music videos. Adelyn and Callista spent their time exploring Malibu together.
This was the way it stayed for the first eleven years of their lives. It was then that Lyla and Logan decided that they wanted a more normal life for their babies. They decided to move their family to New York City... in a more calm and 'normal' part of the city.
So, just as middle school started up for the twins, the James family moved across the country. Adelyn and Callista soon started at Eastside Middle School. They then began to drift apart. Sure, they were still closer than most siblings, but a lot was changing. They had new friends, new cliques, and soon rarely spoke at school. Adelyn began to try to look older and act older than she was. This was to impress the older kids that she saw as 'cool.' By doing this, the twins' relationship was strained.
It remained this was for the duration of middle school. That would bring them to where they are now -Freshman year. By this point, Adelyn and Callista had traveled all over the world with their parents on vacations and work related things. They had not yet traveled anywhere without their parents, though. So, when Eastside High announced that they'd be taking a trip to Lundy... the James Twins were the first to sign up. Callista had originally signed up first. But, Adelyn -not wanting to be left out- had then signed up. They'd convinced their parents to let them go and had no idea what would be happening in the near future. Now, stranded on the island that is definitely not Lundy... will Adelyn and Callista be able to pull their relationship back together?

and then, it dawned on her. the plane was... burning! panic swept over her face and june struggled to unsnap her seatbelt. scooping up her drawing pad, the teenager gasped. was this really happening? the sharp intake of air allowed the smoke in the air to enter her lungs. june began to cough, now struggling hard to see where she was going. she wasn't sure where she was heading... but she knew she needed to get out of the airplane.
a million and one thoughts raced through her mind as she pressed her eyes closed tightly. tripping over someone or something, june landed with a hard thump on the bottom of the plane. a sharp pain was suddenly coming from her left knee, but it didn't register in june's mind. she held tightly to her drawing pad as she crawled down the aisle of the plane. she allowed herself to open her eyes slightly -if only to squint. it was only by this that she managed to find the emergency exit. someone else had left it open, and june had never been so happy in her life.
the fresh air outside of the plane was a relief. june gave a quick gasp for air, nearly collapsing on the ground. she stayed there for a minute or so, just watching the scene unwind around her. some of her classmates were panicking, the pilot was trying to remain call as he shouted into the plane, and then her other peers were simply relaxed. june wasn't sure what to do. she slowly pulled herself up off the ground, and wobbled a few steps. looking down at her feet, it was only then that her senses seemed to return.
she noticed how scratched up and red her knees were... the left one seemed almost swollen. and then, her right arm was scratched and... bleeding? june swallowed hard, quickly looking away. she managed to walk a few more steps and then, as if on cue, her coughing returned. she immediately stopped walking and slid down into the sand. what was going on? where were they? she nearly blacked out, thinking this, but she still had slight consciousness.
